Community Involvement

Seagull Software wants to give back to the communities that support our business through philanthropy and through active participation in associations that shape the future.

AeA

AeA (formerly the American Electronics Association), founded in 1943, is a nationwide non-profit trade association that represents all segments of the technology industry and is dedicated to a successful technology industry. AeA specializes in lobbying governments at the state, federal, and international levels to advance technology industry interests; providing access to capital and business opportunities; and offering select business services and networking programs.

Technology Association of Georgia

TAG is one of the largest technology organizations in the U.S. TAG's mission is to help Georgia's technology companies speak in a strong voice. The Association serves as a liaison with Chambers of Commerce statewide and beyond to attract new businesses and employees, and to provide TAG members with information on the legislative agenda that impacts them. TAG helps prioritize the issues facing Georgia's technology companies by working closely with other organizations like AeA and its Technology Leadership Coalition.

OpenAjax Alliance

The OpenAJAX Alliance includes more than 30 companies and organizations in identifying and consolidating best practices, reaching a consensus on programming models around a reference implementation for tools interoperability, and generating wider AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) adoption throughout the industry. AJAX has placed more attention on enterprise Rich Internet Applications (RIA) which meshes well with SOA and web services initiatives. As a strategic vendor in this community, Seagull Software is actively promoting AJAX and in particular AJAX IDE standards.

United Way

We support the charitable efforts of the United Way, conducting annual fund raising drives which our employees generously support. Employees are able to direct their giving to their geography and program of choice. Seagull Software was recognized by the United Way in both 2004 and 2005 as "A Company That Cares" as a result of our employees' financial and marketing support of the United Way.

Toys for Tots

For the past 6 years, Seagull Software has participated in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve "Toys for Tots" program. The mission of the program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders. Our employees give generously to this program every year.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.

Seagull Software supported the efforts of this organization's local Atlanta-based affiliate by providing sponsorship of a build as well as a group of volunteers to participate in the construciton of several building projects in 2006.
