Seagull Software and Ecensity Partner to Join Complementary Solutions for Rapid Enterprise Portal DeploymentAMF illustrates how Ecensity Presentation Server and Seagull Software’s LegaSuite® solution work together to take business-critical legacy systems to the WebParis, Atlanta, Dordrecth - 06 March 2006Seagull Software (AEX: SEAGULL), a leading provider of high-performance solutions that transform legacy business applications into service-oriented architecture (SOA) Web services, announced a partnership with Ecensity, publisher of Ecensity Presentation Server 3.0, a solution that extends the benefits of service-oriented architectures to the presentation layer. Together, they offer the most time-efficient method for transforming legacy applications into Web services that can be accessed from a dynamic Web portal. Seagull Software’s LegaSuite transforms business applications on a variety of platforms including mainframe, DEC VT/UNIX, iSeries and Windows client/server into reusable Web services with no coding. Ecensity Presentation Server 3.0 uses these Web services to create customized Web applications and composite applications. “Ecensity Presentation Server 3.0 (EPS) is a presentation layer that includes both an XML Virtual Machine (XVM) and presentation services, adding short development time to the wealth of advantages provided by service-oriented architectures. Simple settings allow applications to be personalized for a user or group of users,” explains Pascal Delannoy, Ecensity’s Partnership Manager for Continental Europe. “We are delighted about this partnership with Seagull Software, because LegaSuite represents the key element allowing us to unlock the full potential of mainframe and iSeries applications,” he adds. “The combination of LegaSuite and EPS gives customers the ability to rapidly implement a dynamic, personalized display that incorporates important business processes on the mainframe and iSeries,” said Paul Bosse, Seagull Software’s Vice-President of Sales for Continental Europe. “Interactive portals are an important priority for many of our customers, and together with EPS we have a complete SOA-based solution.” French insurance company AMF (Assurance Mutuelle des Fonctionnaires) is already reaping the benefits of the combination of these two technologies for its customer portal. “LegaSuite Integration Engine automatically creates a gateway between the legacy and Java worlds. Ecensity sits on top of Seagull Software’s solution for the portal presentation,” explains Daniel Leulier, AMF’s IT Manager. Ecensity Presentation Server (EPS) formats and dynamically manages the information by collecting the transactions delivered by LegaSuite Integration Server as JavaBeans. AMF’s Marketing/Communication teams can tailor the portal’s advertising banners to each subscriber’s profile using the identification module in EPS. AMF subscribers can now access their account online to view their current insurance policies, the insured drivers for each vehicle and the terms for each policy, as well as receive the necessary certificates. In addition, an online quote service is available and AMF is proud of the current 13% conversion rate. “We are collaborating with Ecensity to take this solution to our customers throughout Europe and the United States,” said Mr. Bosse. ### About EcensityResulting from a Franco-American partnership uniting skills culled from the international NICT community, New York-based Ecensity Corp. is the technological leader in the emerging market of presentation platforms for Web applications and service-oriented architectures.
