Liquidlogic uses “LegaSuite® for Windows” from Seagull Software to provide local authorities with Child Management systemsNew Integrated Children’s System (ICS) enables public bodies to enhance case management for protection of vulnerable childrenLondon, UK - 25 July 2006Seagull Software (AEX: SEAGULL), a leading provider of high-performance solutions that transform legacy business applications into service-oriented architecture (SOA) assets, today announced that Liquidlogic will use the LegaSuite solution in the development of Integrated Children’s Systems (ICS) for local authorities and other public bodies. Liquidlogic is a leading provider of software solutions to support collaborative working and the LegaSuite technology will ensure that the new ICS can layer on top of the Windows client/server legacy systems that local authorities have in place. This integration will enable them to retain the important information they already have on children in their area and ensure they comply with new initiatives for enhanced management of cases of child neglect and abuse. Increased focus has been drawn to the management of cases of vulnerable children, and Liquidlogic helps local authorities to increase the efficiency of processes, improve case management and make staff more proactive through the implementation of its ICS. The solution is developed in Liquidlogic’s PROTOCOL software, a java-based development environment that enables multi-agency workflow and information sharing applications. Seagull Software’s LegaSuite application enables the Liquidlogic system to sit on top of existing local authority Windows client/server applications so it can gain a unified view of all available information about a person, and share that across multiple back-end systems, irrespective of computer-operating infrastructure. “We have developed an application that enables local authorities to effectively manage cases of vulnerable people in their communities, but the problem that we faced was that most of these bodies had proprietary Windows applications that they had invested heavily in, and that we couldn’t replace because of the value of the information that they hold,” commented Ted Brierley, Managing Director, Liquidlogic. “Seagull Software’s LegaSuite platform gives us the capability to seamlessly integrate our ICS solution into these systems so that our customers can achieve all the functionality that they need in the case management process, and simultaneously retain the history and investment that they are right to protect.” “From when we first got involved with Liquidlogic, it was clear that this was going to be a very innovative use of our LegaSuite integration platform. Ted and his team joined with consultants from our team to very quickly build an integrated offering around ICS that Liquidlogic could demonstrate to its local authority and agency customers,” said Stephen Tickhill, UK VP for Seagull Software. “The solution that ICS provides greatly enhances the effectiveness of the multiple agencies working with children at risk, and we were extremely happy that our LegaSuite platform was an enabler for this service transformation.” ### About LiquidlogicLiquidlogic was established in 2000 by an experienced team who identified the market opportunity to develop inter-organisational process automation software. Information technology has traditionally served the organisation; Liquidlogic’s solutions are designed to focus on better serving the customer. In any process flow the customer may access a number of related, but separate, organisations in order to satisfy their need. The information systems of these organisations are normally disparate and unconnected and thus do not map onto the process; therefore the experience of the customer can be of a disjointed service. Liquidlogic offers ‘federated applications’ that manage processes from start to finish across a range of organisations and thus facilitate joined up working.
