Alliance Opens Up Legacy Systems to Cordys Composite Application Framework

Seagull Software (AEX: SEAGULL), a leading provider of software products for connecting legacy applications to service-oriented architectures (SOA), and Cordys, a global software company providing the most comprehensive Composite Application Framework (CAF) commercially available, today announced an alliance agreement to help enterprises speed the deployment of service-oriented architectures at a reduced cost and risk.

Under the agreement, the companies will collaborate on technology, marketing and sales initiatives worldwide. Cordys delivers a new generation business operating framework that is completely Web-services based. It brings new levels of IT optimization through total business integration. The framework includes rich client technology for the Web-based user interface, Business Process Management (BPM), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and Web services orchestration.

Cordys delivers an open and flexible infrastructure to easily adopt a services oriented architecture, using existing applications as well as new applications to be built.

Seagull Software's LegaSuite^® provides the "on-ramp" for proprietary legacy applications to the Cordys ESB by wrapping mainframe, iSeries and UNIX/VT business logic and data into callable XML and SOAP interfaces for efficient, standards-based integration. Once available as Web services, enterprises have a foundation to start re-engineering these existing business processes and orchestrating them into new functionality.
