CICS and IMS Service-Enablement

LegaSuite offers mainframe shops a comprehensive solution for transforming mainframe applications and data into Web services, making the mainframe an active participant in your SOA initiatives.

Development Tools

LegaSuite offers an Eclipse-based workbench to expose CICS applications and data to technologies such as SOAP, XML, .NET, WebSphere MQ in order to be consumed by Web and desktop clients, as well as other business applications. Also supports bi-directional Web services.

Deployment Choices

For CICS, LegaSuite offers three deployments:

LegaSuite CICS Engine

Runs natively on the mainframe in CICS, offering the highest performance possibilities. Invokes CICS application microflows via COMMAREA (DPL), 3270 Bridge/FEPI or VSAM.

LegaSuite Distributed Engine

Runs on the mainframe in z/Linux, or off the mainframe on Windows, UNIX, Linux or Sun Solaris. Invokes CICS application microflows via COMMAREA, TN3270 or ODBC/JDBC to database files. Advantageous when your application or mainframe is outsourced, or when you want manage MIPS usage on the mainframe.

 

Hybrid

Uses both the LegaSuite CICS and Distributed Engines and working in unison. This lets you offload SOAP, XML and HTTP processing to more cost-effective platforms yet retain the performance power of microflow processing on the mainframe.

LegaSuite is the only solution that is portable across all deployment platforms. Regardless of which deployment option you select, you can easily change your deployment to another environment as needed.
